Our Story

Keeping our language, culture and roots alive—together.

For many Filipino families living overseas, one of the greatest hopes is that our children grow up knowing not only where they come from, but also the language, traditions and values that connect them to their heritage.

That hope inspired Balik-Roots.

We wanted our own children to grow up speaking Filipino, embracing our traditions, and feeling proud of their Filipino heritage. When we searched for fun, engaging bilingual books to support that journey, we couldn't find the kind of books we were looking for.

So we decided to create them ourselves.

Today, Balik-Roots is our way of helping Filipino families around the world create everyday moments of learning, laughter and connection. Through playful stories, colourful illustrations, and conversations in Filipino and English, we hope every book helps children build confidence in the language, celebrate our culture, and stay connected to their roots.
